About
CLMDO is a Latin-Jazz DJ based in Isabela, Puerto Rico, the music project of Wilson Dávalos. An earlier chapter under the same name was a restaurant, now closed; today CLMDO is the music brand, devoted to vintage Latin-Jazz and 70s Salsa. Artists Carlos Mare and Doze Green drew the mark, with Rock Steady Crew in the circle. The long game is to keep shaping nights from the crate and, in time, to produce eclectic Latin music with a jazz lean.
CLMDO plays for rooms that still listen. Latin-Jazz DJ sets sit in a thin lane next to Salsa DJs and live jazz bands, and that is the craft. Nights along the way include CLMDO Presents Palmieri + Palmieri, a Sunday tribute to Eddie and Charlie Palmieri at Manifesto Mocktail Bar; La Factoría in Old San Juan; Vino e Vinili in Rome; Café Comunión in Ro Piedras; the hi-fi listening bar El Más Allá; and Lote 23 in Santurce, where CLMDO has worked as both playlist curator and DJ.
CLMDO is Puerto Rican listening-room Latin, still in motion — an artist and brand whose work continues from Isabela outward.
